!!Science!! Easy minecart-based repeater
« on: March 17, 2013, 05:35:13 am »

I spent some time trying to invent reliable repeater easier than standard pump-based "precision clock Generator" but highly predictable. First of all for use with "blinking" bridges.
The result is on the picture. Less power consumption, no problems with ice, no problems with filling/evaporation, easy to connect new devices, still not bad precision.

On the picture "F" are floodgates, "D" is door, "=" are tracks, "^" are pressure plates, "O" are walls, and arrows are rollers. Easiest way to launch minecart to the track without ruining logic of repeater - is pushing it from outside, for example push it east to the upper pressure plate. Then you should remove minecart from the route using "h" menu.

All walls and door are optional and you anyway should remove one wall to power on the rollers.

PS Connected door stay 103 ticks opened and 107 ticks closed with empty alder minecart and "normal" speed rollers.
PPS To connect new devices you should power off rollers first =)

That's a nice design. Still, it would be more dorfy to use captured goblins...

Instead of the pressure plates? That would be more dorfy indeed. Dwarf Bonus if you can get goblins inside the minecarts as well.
