Worldgen seeds between versions

So I recently found a game of DF I'd been playing some time ago tucked away on a work laptop, and thought I'd like to resurrect the fortress by generating the world in the latest release, and embarking into the same location.  For some reason it's giving me a totally different world (including name), when I use the world_gen_param's.  The old game was in 0.31.25 (new game is current version, 0.34.11, obviously).

Am I just out of luck?

Worldgen seeds don't carry over if you've so much as changed a single character in the RAWs of the same version, why did you think they'd carry over between versions?

Eh, I didn't, really.  I just hoped, is all.  It was a cool embark location.
