Hi, I want to restrict some dwarfs to a specific burrow in a cavern. The Idea was to create a military squad of miners and woodcutters and assign the squad to this burrow. But now, when they are supposed to mine and not train, they starrt to wander my entire fortress, what they are not supposed to do. Do I have to assign them manually to the burrow, or is there some way to do this in the military options?

To my knowledge, when a military dwarf is off-duty, they're considered a civilian and are subject to civilian burrow restrictions. Unless you want to restrict your entire fort to those burrows, I think you'll have to manually assign the dwarves you want down there to the appropriate burrows.

As I understand it, trying to enlist miners and hunters into the military can create problems. I'm not sure that's why you're having an issue at present, but it's worth noting that people advise against enabling these labors on military members.

Would be cool, when you could make groups for your dwars. Would make many things much easier.

@GotIt_00: Yes thanks. i have read that they would fight without weapons when you don't use uniforms or something like that. I will check this also, if they do everything correct.

what could be happening is that your militia member, when going off-duty, reverts to the "miner uniform" and is storing, or trying to store, his militia uniform untill he needs it again
