War for the Overworld does look pretty promising imo. They even have the same evil narrator from the DK series. :)

Is it available on Steam or something? (Since I have an account on that awful thing now.)

The old workshop (one that created items over time) had the upside of being an emergency money source.
Just pop those traps/doors they made anywhere and sell!

Altho it obviously stopped being the case in DK2.
