If there's an existing thread about this I missed, I'll shave my beard and bump it.
I spent some time catching up on
development plans, and thought I'd ask what the rest of you are looking to do when adventure mode gets beefed up. For me, I have an idea to mix thief, trader, and explorer roles in a somewhat silly way:
1. Start as a kobold with an updated Kobold Camp mod.
2. Build/steal caravan.
3. Buy/steal finest clothing I can find that'll fit me. (Might be tricky.)
4. Visit/steal distant lands for trade.
5. Buy/steal the best weapons, tools, and metal bars I can.
6. Return home and give them to my tribe's chieftain in tribute.
The mental image I have while in distant lands: I'm in a noble's dining room, drinking with him. *Monocle pop* "
Savage kobolds? My word, this continent is absolutely topsy-turvy. Back in my floating island hometown on the other side of the world (so don't trouble yourself with checking for it), Notmadeupington, we're all quite civilized and dapper. Oh, and I'm here to buy a rather large quantity of steel ingots. It's an ingredient in mythril, you know. We'd forge our own, but there aren't many heavy ores in our floating island. Aside from all the gold, of course. Oh, I see you have a black bronze scimitar, studded with turquoise and engraved with images of itself displayed on that weapon rack, there. How droll. Guard that treasure well, since you never know what shady hooligans might take a shine to it."
Step 7: Retire, switch to fortress/camp mode, don war paint, conquer nearby elf civ with a surprisingly well-armed kobold army.
