Keep in mind that clothing/armor penetration is bugged, it scales with volume/weight instead of linearly. As long as only dwarves, goblins, humans and so on have clothing, you don't realize it, as they're all about the same size. With very large creatures, however, such as demons, even pikes (the weapon with most penetration) can't cut into them, only bruise them - attacks that can't penetrate are blunted out.

So next time, attack unclothed bodyparts if possible, or use hard hitting blunt weapons.
So, my fully clothed modded Grand Colossuses (size 200000000000000000000000000000000000ish) are invincible?

Is this freshwater or saltwater? Because alternatively you could breed a large amount of crocodiles and unleash them into the waters... indirect genocide.

Pretty much, even if in theory they can still be harmed by blunt damage. Unless you deal with them with a cave in...
However, with full clothing, pretty much anything in megabeast range without tiny bodyparts won't even take a scratch.
