((Or even have burrowing insects crawl into your skin!))
Upon getting a closer look, Xybia finds that the hammers, with their dull points for punching a hole in a heavily armored opponent, are in worse condition than they initially appeared. It looks like they've needed to be repaired multiple times, but each time, the repairer was a novice. They look to be made of iron, which would explain the rusting. The handles are in worse condition than the blades, the grips appear to have been smoothened down from use and the wooden bits are cracked. Still, having one as a sidearm for when fighting in a tunnel or other space where a large weapon such as a maul or a greataxe would be impractical would be good.
A glance accidentally given to the polesaw shows that the machinery inside has been removed, so now it's just a fancy axe with a circular sawblade for a head.
And then there are the jackpilums, another impractical Demonblood weapon. If turned on, the pilum's head would move like a jackhammer's. These can be thrown at an enemy or jammed into them, and while the former is difficult, both tactics will cause massive internal ruptures. Then there's a button that allows the head to be shot out at an enemy. On this model, it looks exactly like the button that turns it on. There's significantly less rust damage on these than the hammers.
"Hello?"
Andy goes behind the counter and knocks on the door.
"Is there anyperson to here?
"Andy? Who've you brought here today?"
"Another Mercpart... To why is this important?"
"You're like a badluck charm to mercparts. The last one, the one you sent to Sidarsos? The died in one of the cities there. Radiation'oes that."
"To why are you not to the store counter?"
"Well, for one, your speech problems are unbearable, and two, I don't want these people to die."
