History World Generation in Fortress Mode?
« on: February 02, 2013, 09:31:04 pm »

This might be a silly question, but does the world change after years pass in fortress mode or does it all stay stagnant? EX: 250 years pass in fortress mode will I still be looking at the same world if I was go switch to adventure mode?

I think races can get wiped out and all that, but I'm not really sure.
However, though, if you manage to get a fort to last 250 years, I would like the save!

Right now everything is frozen once world generation ends, with the exception that people keep aging (though they won't die, which will eventually lead to the state where any and all historical figures are fine until they reach your fortress or are seen by an adventurer, at which point they immediately drop dead of old age :P). Once the next version comes out that should change though, and the world will keep going during fortress mode instead of being locked in stasis.

It would be brutally difficult and probably won't work. In other words, it's absolutely dwarven!
