Kogan stormed out of the office, muttering every curse in the book at both his horrid fate and the thick door he was struggling with. He fumed as he worked his way through the crowded passageway to the main hall of the Mountainhome. Despite the crowd, Kogan could make out the thin figure of his good friend Kib, and plopped down next to the dwarf after piling his plate with food.
As Kogan sat down, Kib's face went from a bland stare to a slight smile. Kib snapped his fingers, pointing at Kogan with his index fingers with his thumbs up-raised. "What's the story?" Kib said, barely audible through the din of the hall.
Kogan started digging into his food, silently eating for a moment. After almost chocking on a particularly big mouthful, he took a swig from his goblet. "This may be the worst day of my life," he said before taking another long drink. He didn't know why he was eating so much, maybe it was to ease himself to what had just happened, maybe he was hoping it'd put him in a coma. After a few more mouthfuls, Kogan reached into his jacket and pulled out two crumpled pieces of parchment. "You remember that tomb I designed for the duke's dead cousin last month?" he asked Kib.
Kib nodded slightly in confirmation.
"Well that got back to the guys deeper in," Kogan said, referring to the grand chambers of the royalty that rested deep within the heart of the mountain. "They want me to make something bigger."
"How much bigger?" Kib asked.
Kogan unfurled one of the pieces of parchment.
"This is a pyramid," Kogan said, distaste clear in his voice. "It is going to be twenty urists high, sit in a ten urist pit, and be a symbol of how great the Mountainhomes are."
"That sounds like it will be neat to make," Kib said, his slight grin seeming a bit less sure.
"Oh, I would love to have this job," Kogan opened up the other piece of paper, "if they weren't sending me into the middle of gods-damned nowhere!"
Kib sat in silence while Kogan fumed into his plate. "Well why don't I go with you?" He asked the angry dwarf.
Kogan stopped mid-bite and stared at his food for a moment. He turned to Kib. "Why would you do that?" Kogan asked.
Kib's smile grew to an almost-grin. "It looks like you'll need the company," he said.
OoC:
So here we go, off into the wilds to create a giant structure with little point. The Pyramid itself is going to be largely made out of smoothed stone, with any dirt, sand, clay and other non-smoothable walls replaced with brick walls. This will also apply to the pit around it.
And now for the founders:
Kogan Larimineth
I didn't plan on Kogan being the architect, his last name merely ended up being a happy coincidence.
Kib Ikthaglogem
Imush Oslanngotun
Kivish Locunlogem
Riggoth Unnoskol
Udil Lumavuz
Urdim Oddomast
