Need suggestions for a megaproject

I have a 61x61x20 underground area I want to put a city in with a 36x36 lake and island temple in the center. The top of the temple will connect to a downwards spire 6 z levels tall hanging from the ceiling by bridges that will be the kings home. The 2nd or 3rd top most floor will have a pit execution chamber that drops into lava.

My current design is an Eiffel Tower looking thing but I don't like it and I can't think of a better looking design. If anyone has any ideas or a similar project I could look at for ideas I would be very thankful.

European style gothic cathedral with magma and water pouring down around the outside and inside complete with multi-z columns... in a giant underground dome.

This, or a fully engraved dark fortress made from cast obsidian.

Numerous, habitable pillars (like underground skyscrapers) interconnected on multiple z-levels with a confusing network of bridges. Bottom of the pit is filled with lava of course. Don't forget lavafalls from the top for aesthetica reasons.

Re-create a demonic fortress and seal up the doors, leaving one legendary dwarf in there with a hatch going straight down to hell, the demons should pour forth into the demonic fortress creating either a nice zoo or a very nice story for one dwarf.

Multiple properly-burrowed skyscraping fortresses, full of their own independant industries, farms, livestock, etc.

Bonus: Make the skyscrapers 'retractable' via support...for safety purposes in the event of undead raven invasion, of course.

Second bonus to justify the first: Have the 'retracting' skyscraper the upperclass district. Their safety is, after all, paramount.

...Actually, I think I'll do this.

Sure, he was talking about Minecraft, but it's still applicable.
