what does it mean when dwarf name is blinking?

I still haven't figured this one out.  What does it mean when a dwarf's name is blinking in the roster?

That dwarf is legendary in at least one profession.

Oh well, then, sucks to see it on my "deceased" list.
Another question: do the colors of the dwarfs' names in the roster mean anything?

The color of their name identifies their profession, if I remember correctly.

Another question: do the colors of the dwarfs' names in the roster mean anything?

If a dwarf is slowly blinking their normal color to a slightly brighter shade (or darker, in a couple instances) that means he's legendary. If a dwarf is very rapidly flashing back and forth between yellow and red that means he's !!ON FIRE!!

The color of a name depends on which profession he is, which is determined by his skill levels. Miners are grey, woodworkers are yellow, engineers are red, nobles are purple, etc.
