The killing of a Goblin Leader.
« on: January 21, 2013, 07:10:15 pm »

What happens if I kill a goblin civ leader?

I managed to capture the Goblins Law-Giver Zolak Bosaongslun in a cage during a goblin raid. At the time of this posting I have thrown him into the middle of my recruit dwarf squad in order to let them beat on him for training (I think its a fitting end).

Are the goblins going to stop attacking me?

When leaders are killed or cease to exist because they leave a map, I find the sieges stop for a season or two, but then show back up.

Good to know. It did not matter much, an undead siege has just begun and now me and my 27 dwarfs are locked up underground with the undead outside of my gate. On the bright side the Human caravan is dead and I get my trade goods back for the dwarfs.

In previous versions if the goblins lost their leader(s) they would stop getting/using mounts soon afterwards.  That appears to no longer apply in 34.11 at least since fully mounted goblin sieges are still turning up six years after their civilization leader got his head chopped off by a militia dwarf.
