Leather/Hide and Bone generation?
« on: December 31, 2012, 10:05:24 pm »

So, the end goal is a coin activated vending machine building, that eats coins as a reaction, and spits out items. Dealing with different coin values will be handled another day. Today, I'm just trying to even make the products.

So far, the most difficult has been leather and bone. Every attempt to produce leather just makes generic "Tanned hides" and not creature leathers, even if a creature is punched in. And my attempts at making bone crash the game.

Does anyone know of a reaction that can be used to just generate a specific creatures hide, rather then processing the hide based on reagent (Which is blank for now, and about to be metals)? I'd even settle for untanned hide, and worry about tanning it manually.

And bones. Every attempt to generate bone has ended horribly.

About the closest is to have it spit out finished bone bolts or whatnot.

Well, you could transform a dwarf into a creature with bodyparts that are connected by a evaporating liquid, causing the bodypart to fall off after a few seconds, then transforming that thing back into a dwarf. Free bodyparts = free bones.

But that wouldnt fit the theme of a merchant exchange building...

... :o ... You are an evil god. I shutter in fear at the thought of the nightmarish hell-world in which your dwarves must live.

...Well done.  :D

(I kid if you can't tell.)

Hmmm, the only thing I could think would be a reaction that spawned a creature, but somehow I think that's unlikely.

Elephant leather works fine. Roc does not. Dragon's yeild "Dragon Fatty" Which sounds like a magical blunt.

You cannot spawn creatures, only transform existing ones, so Meph's method is the best.
