As for the solution- the cyclops is too weak for that. Even FBs need to be pretty hardcore to manage armed 100 goblins.
Waaait... I just realized: I could make a passage from the caverns to the surface, seal it off with a bridge, and let the FBs out to deal with sieges!

I have to try this now.

Then what else should I do with the cyclops and FBs?

Make a Arena with single warriors, so that they may be considered a champion.
Or at least, thats what I do.

Not the solution to your problem, but also an interesting idea:
GUTFEAST!
Get some chickens, make them lay eggs and wait for hundreds of chicks to hatch. Then make a bridge-dropper, put all the chicks there and drop them on the siege.
Bonus points if you wait for them to become hens.
Megabonus if you make one suicidal dwarf that will dig out complex system for prisoner separation and let them in (by the cost of his life ofc.) Then try to make goblins fight in battles like 1 gob vs 30 hens or 5 gobs vs 20 boars.

In one of my forts I had abt. 50 chicks pitted in the room for live archery targets and also dropped a giant grasshopper there. Before my marksdwarves got to their positions, grasshopper has been eaten pecked to death

The first small thing that made me feel awesome was my indoor waterfall. A few minutes later though, it started flooding my fort so I felt less awesome.

How can you use your own animals as target practice?

You can't.
The pit was for target practice, not animals.
It was an above-ground fort and I was lack of space. 7 or 8 nest boxes of turkeys were hatched (giving me around 70 chicks) and they quicckly spread all over the fortress. I just wanted to restrain them somewhere...

Kill all but one of each and have a Pokegoblin collection.
