I don't see why the dwarves would become unhappy the minute they arrive. Usually I have no problems with dwarf happiness.

Have any of you guys actually looked at the save?!?!?  Its definitely bugged behavior.  There is an important question that needs to be answered: Is this a fresh install or did you overwrite your previous folder?

The save in question is from 33b installed over a fresh 33a.  However the behaviour is the same with completely fresh installations of both 33a and 33b.

I'd try starting a new fortress in a fresh install of 33c and see what happens.

Exactly the same thing, sadly.  Within the first minute of gameplay one of my dwarves started flashing with the tantrum mark, with occasional forays into insanity.  Nothing in the announcements, and nothing for him but a slow death from dehydration.

I don't know if you can move a post. Cross-post to bug reports just to be sure. Sound like 100% bug to me.

I've seen highly unusual things happening that made no sense at all in other games I've played.  At the time, I had no virus protection software.  Fresh installs of the games didn't solve the problem because the .exe of the games would get reinfected right at install.  Is there any chance your not protected by an up to date virus protection software?  How long has it been since you've wiped and reinstalled windows?

Not suggesting you do the latter of course just for the sake of DF, just suggesting it might not be DF code going wrong since no one else seems to be having these issues.  It really sounds like something is corrupting the game to me.
