In theory, couldn't you make a really dumbed-down version of dwarf fortress that might work on a calculator? This would be more like making a another game, but I could still see it being enjoyable to play.
We could do that, or we could ask Toady to recompile DF as ARM-compatible! Huzzah!

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

He'd have to redo a lot to make it ARM compatable. Also the controls would be ridiculously hard :P

Is making a program ARM-compatible any more difficult than making it for another OS? I thought it was just another type of processor the compiler had to support, not even as complicated as taking advantage of 64-bits by making sure your integer sizes are handled nicely. But I've never actually tried to compile a program for an ARM machine, so I wouldn't actually know.

I have an idea. Let's play a game where you win by being as quiet as possible.
I get it, it's one of those games where losing is fun!

That sounds too simple! Lets just ask Toady. If its not too much trouble perhaps he'd be willing to compile an ARM compatable version. Hell, he may even be willing to make the controls more mobile friendly!
