Long Time Player, First Time Poster
« on: December 05, 2012, 11:53:30 pm »

Hello, fellow dwarves. I've been playing Dwarf Fortress for about a year and a half now, but never even visited the forums once. I now regret that decision.

I just generated a new region, and I fell in love with it. 3 major continents, each resembling a neat shape.

One resembles a pair of legs dancing. Another is a shape that reminds me of a pinup girl. And the third resembles an arrowhead.

Wanted to share a picture of the awesomeness that is random happenstance.

Anyway, I look forward to getting to know everyone. May your swords stay sharp.

Welcome to the forums!

I agree that your world is very aesthetically pleasing. What are the civilizations doing? What age is it in?

What were your worldgen parameters?

Good questions. I'll dive into Legends and write all about "The Land of Nails"

Here's my Legends file to tide anyone interested over while I parse this information into a good narrative. I'll probably end up writing a short story on the world just 'cuz I can.

To use this file, just extract using 7zip, open 'LegendsViewer.exe', and hit the '...' next to XML. In the file browser, select 'region1-legends.7z' and hit ok.

The Legends information will appear on screen in a very beautiful, easy to read format.

It looks like Dwarf Fortress worldgen can now be used in psychology as a replacement for the old Rorschach test

The first world I genned look suspiciously like the US and europe.  So much so I just assumed that world gen gave you a piece of the real world.

I wish I hadn't deleted that world.

The two legs dancing looks like a molar (tooth) to me!

Your genitalia must be so terribly, terribly strange if they look like that.
