Execution
« on: December 14, 2012, 09:34:58 pm »

Now, this isn't for executing your alcoholics, it's for executing your prisoners.  Basically, you could construct a guillotine, or some sort of chopping block, and you would be able to call anyone who wanted to watch to come near it.  You could assign a Caged Prisoner, say a Goblin, to it, and then depending on what type of execution thing it is, something would correspond.  if it's a chopping block, a dwarf with an axe will lop his head off, if it's a guillotine, a lever could be pulled.  This would make bloodthirsty dwarves happy, seeing their mortal enemies executed.  just a little something extra, since i hate having to designate my military to kill chained gobbos.

Ideas:
Guillotine
Chopping Block
Firing Squad
Death by Fluffy Wamblers
Etc.

Easiest way would be to use your hammerer. Lay the prisoner down on a stone execution slab, bash away at head until gooey stuff comes out. An arena full of animals would also be cool.

Critical hit! It's super effective!

nice name ;).  but ye, i think it'd increase people's happiness to see their enemies executed for their crimes.  maybe masters (swordmasters, crossbowmasters, etc.)  would get it slowly and painfully, as they are a higher rank.  and oh boy, if you captured their law-giver...

It would also be cool to have an exchange of hostages and trade a few goblins for some of your civilization's children that were kidnapped. Of course, the goblins may or may not comply, and if they do then the children may or may not be returned in good condition...

im likin it.  obviously the higher the person's skill that you're returning, the more you can get out of the gobbos.  you may even be able to obtain kids of other races/other dwarven civillizations, when toady adds multicultural forts

Aren't there 20000 ways to kill your invaders already?
I mean it would be fun and all but I don't see the point to have 20001 ways to kill your invaders.
Besides, there is bigger fish to fry.

But this is punishing their crimes against your people, not just putting them in a 3x3 room and letting your military eat their ears.

I agree, the Hammerer should be the man who carries out such things. It's perfect for him, and actually gives him a use beyond killing people you don't want him to kill, or leading the Royal Guard that nobody uses.

Tada! Execution by Hammerer complete with blood spatter, cheering crowds and the purple/pinkishly dressed noble in the background who most likely ordered it ^^
