Mission Status

Have you ever thought, “losing is fun, but what if I could leave something to stand the test of time?”  For generations to come, your creation would live on, be-dwarfed by your computer-controlled descendants.  That's what this month is all about.  This in addition to all the parkour stuff that just went in with the giant trees.  If you aren’t excited by now, you should go to the doctor and get your blood pressure checked.

Congratulations to the generous!

Fun with Numbers

Non-player dwarven sites will likely be our largest challenge so far in the world tour we've been taking of the various critters over the last few months.  They have to be reclaimable by the fortress mode player when they are conquered or fall into ruin, they have to be visitable by adventurers, and they also have to be reasonable in a general sense, fitting into the world as a whole.  In addition, these sites have to align closely enough with player fortresses that a player fortress can turn into one of them when it is retired, which is why we're going ahead with that now.  There are also some matters regarding hill dwarves to settle, although we might not get fully into all the mechanics for that.  First up, we'll just be handling the basic maps, then we'll probably jump right into fortress retirement from there.  It moves us ever more away from the original "gamey" idea that you'd always have your fortress die to end a playthrough.  There should still be plenty of that, along with more successful fortresses being allowed to simply integrate into the overall dwarven civilization through the retirement mechanism when it is time to move on, similar to the current adventure mode retirement option.

October:   $3579.58
September: $2712.83
August:    $3594.48
July:      $3905.02
June:      $3599.86

Reward reminder:  If you support us, you can pick either a Story Reward or a Crayon/Colored Pencil Art Reward.  A Story Reward is basically a mini-Threetoe story (examples) and a Crayon Art Reward is a crudely drawn scene which we sketch, color in, and mail to you, anywhere in the world (assuming your contribution covers postage, which is about a dollar almost wherever you are).  We take personal requests for either reward as well, he he he.  You can also be listed among the Bay 12 Champions.
