What that article is describing is a pyramid scheme verbatim.

To put this in a light that a programmer like myself can understand.

System.out.println(isScam(Lyoness));

True.

A good rule to live by: If someone feels the need to tell you why something isn't a pyramid scheme or scam, it's probably a pyramid scheme or scam.

My employer was recently looking for people to do easy work from home jobs; I didn't post the details here even though I thought about doing so, since as first glance it might look a little scammy.

(It's transcribing English/German speech into text; but it's a Chinese owned company going through the middle of a merger and name change; so the business name on different documents is different; and they plan to pay with paypal...)

But yeah, Lyoness is absolutely a pyramid scheme hiding behind a 'loyalty program' that could be legit on it's own, but I'd feel safer 'investing' in Los Pollos Hermanos.

Don't tell anyone that you can see their shadows. If they hear you telling anyone, if you let them know that you know of them, they will get you.

Yeah...
Just because you say it isn't a pyramid scheme doesn't mean it isn't.
it is
