Creature Tiles
« on: December 21, 2012, 06:05:29 am »

I know this probably been said a lot of times, but why can't we have tiles which represent the size of an animal

If a tile is 1m X 1m, as many people state. Why do dragons take up the same amout of tiles (1) as a rabbit.

Would it be possible to have larger animals take up more spaces. So a buny takes up one but a dragon takes up a 3X3 or similar. Or possibly a 3X4 as they are longer than they are wide.

THis would add a lot more depth to the game, This may affect defence though, because a door takes up a 1x1 area but a dragon would take up a 3X3 preventing it getting through the door.

I just think it would add some realism (Wut with dragons pshhhh :D), it just bugs me when I see a dragon or other large animal take up the same tile as a rabbit.

Ah, common misconception: tiles don't have a fixed size, it's just sometimes useful to assign some numbers to them. 2m x 2m x 3m is nice for calculating the map size, but doesn't make any sense with creatures or buildings.

Regarding multi-tile creatures, they're planned, but not a high priority.

I wonder if the game has become odd.

If a bunny taking the same space as a gragon bugs you, you must hate the current crouch mechanic.

People love a happy ending. So every episode, I will explain once again that I don't like people. And then Mal will shoot someone. Someone we like. And their puppy.

As mentioned, planned.
Not mentioned, suggested before.
