Can anyone think of any possible reason to insist on staying on the same planet as the rogue god?

If we really must fight him for some reason, at least make our own planet and build a power base there that he can't interfere with. Then come back later with more power. Every god in the universe gets his own planet. It makes no sense that we, the creator of the universe, the creator of all gods, the creator of all planets...don't get our planet for some reason.
