Alter Aging?

Is there a way to make dwarves grow up faster/slower from children to adults?

Ask in mod, and yes.

you have to edit the raws, I forget what one it is just search the forum or google and it will show up.

Go into the raw folder, then the objects folder, and open creature_standard.

The first entry on there will be dwarves.

Now, if you want them to stay babies longer, change [BABY:1] to another number.

To alter how long they remain children, change [CHILD:12] to whatever you want it to be.

There you have it.

In casr Ubiq wasn't clear, that 12 nexr to CHILD is the number of years it takes a dwarf to reach maturity. The 1 next to the baby is when they reach adolecence I think.

Also, it also needs to be said that if you want the changes to be in effect in ykur already ongoing game, you will need to edit the copy of the raws in data> saves>(your save).

As Ubiq pointed out the tokens you will be modding are the [CHILD:X] token and the [BABY:X] token. Steps to mod:
1)Open up raw/objects if you want to edit future worlds or data/save/regionX/raw/objects if you want to edit a current save/
2)Open up creature_standard.txt, you should see the [CREATURE:DWARF] creature.
3)The number in [BABY:X] determines what age they change from a baby to a child. If you don't want them to be babies ever then remove this token.
4)The number in [CHILD:X] determines what age they become adults at. You need to have this token in order to have children, so don't remove it.
5)Start up DF.

Note:Any current children that are now above the age at which they become adults should change at their next birthday.
