Something occurred to me after reading the 160 (awesome and amazing) pages of story. I probably missed the reason somewhere since I mainly just read the GM posts and skimmed everything else so the answer is probably in there somewhere, but why did we stop development on the Mavens? Weren't they supposed to become a sort of super soldier?

Spoiler: Adjustable action plan (click to show/hide)

I don't think we've seen the last of this "Consortium." We need to launch a full investigation. Question anyone who had any contact with them. Find out their motives, resources, and capabilities. See if there is any public sympathy with them. Try to find any hidden cells that may remain. Classify the Consortium as an illegal terrorist organization and arrest any remaining known members. Make it a crime to aid them in any way.

I'm guessing, based on their actions, that the Consortium is an anti-AI group, and also possibly anti-military. We can use this against them. Do some interviews with news organizations. Praise the military as the brave heroes of humanity; denigrate the Consortium as cowardly traitors against humanity. Make sure public opinion is solidly against them, and their resources and hiding places will quickly dry up.

So its just a general memorial to all the humans who've died building up this colony? I can get behind that.

Obviously.  Don't make it reflective, though...

But not so much that they can see themselves clearly.  Blurred is probably best.  It gives the idea of the people who have died, but not the idea of "you are next"

Partly. Since most of the orbital infrastructure was ripped apart, I assumed there were at least a few deaths.

I propose to make it a monument to Unity, or whatever ideals we hold up high, and dedicate it to the people who gave their lives for it.

One question though, How come a prototype, untested, Battlecruiser was fully armed with working warheads and ammunition. It shouldn't have gotten more than a few dozen missiles (enough for one salvo) or have been armed with dummies. You don't need a full battle complement for testing runs.

The consortium were those who build the ship.

Or do you mean the workers in the dockyards

Either one of those, both of those, or something else.
