Hydra not Moving

I just got my first hydra attack, but it doesn't do anything. It just sits at the edge of the map. It definitely has a path to the fortress. I just want it to attack and get trapped. Also, on a somewhat related note, when I have goblin sieges I tend to have an entire unit just sitting back somewhere random on the map, and just waiting until all their buddies are dead. This may have something to do with me raising drawbridges and cutting of their path? I have to send out my troops for !!Fun!! and they don't like it. Any help appreciate(I really want hydra pets)

If they can't path to something they can attack ( Members of your fortress usually ) they'll sit there. Building destoryers will path to what they like to bust up, but those don't usually shows up aboveground. They can be pretty sluggish in figuring it out, though!

Only other reason I can think of is your map's awfully hot and you're using 34.11, pathing don't go through too hot tiles.

Sorry, I mustn't have worded it correctly. The gates are open, there are cage traps and everything. When I said the drawbridges were up I meant it was for the goblins, on a separate case from the hydra, when they nearly got through. Then when I opened the gates a goblin unit that had stopped when the gates were shut didn't start moving again and the military had to sort it out. The Hydra and the goblins are different occasions, the only difference is that the hydra is something I want to trap.
