You imagine an icepick, and try to make Fortresssparks take the shape. It fights you every step of the way, but you manage to reform it properly. Tool in hand, you start to make your way across the span. Right off the bat you slip on the ice and stumble too close to the edge. You try to stop yourself, but your legs fly out from under you and start falling into the abyss. At the last possible moment, you stab Fortresssparks into the concrete and manage to hold on.*
You hand there for a moment, allowing your heart time to start beating again before you try to pull yourself up. Don't. Look. Down. you think to yourself. It's a struggle, but you manage to find a toehold on the side of the bridge and heave yourself up once more. With recent events in mind, you step very carefully and keep Fortresssparks at the ready. All goes well until the wind begins to pick up again. It starts to push you toward the edge despite your best efforts, and you stab Fortresssparks into the bridge again.
After a few minutes of standing in the icy wind, you realize that it's not just going to go away. In fact, it's only getting stronger. Oh what to do...

*random.org gave me a 3, a 2, and a 19. I genuinely fear for poor Johnathan here.

Give it a good mindrape and split Fort into two mini-picks? That's the best I've got for this odd situation. Not much of a survivalist here.

We don't need to hurt its mind or soul! Icepicks work on skulls too, so it's quite fine counting as a weapon, and thus in Fortresssparks' range. However, what would be even better is a wonderous chainsaw-dagger. One that may move its teeth slowly, to act as a tracting treads against the bridge. We're probably going to need keep it going with our own strength (crank, twisting handle, or raw soul power), but the ultra-sharp blades should stick into the ice and concrete just fine.

Imagine a cool peice of sky-blue and milk-white marble about 3cm by 2cm and by 0.5cm, containing a tiny 2mm malacolite crystal. Now imagine the miles of metamorphic rock it's embedded in that no pick or chisel will ever touch. Then, imagine that those miles will melt back into their mantle long before any telescope even refracts an image of their planet. The watchers will be so excited to have that image too.

Chainsaw dagger! Woo!! *Ahem* Anyway...

The thought occurs to you to change Fortresssparks into a more grippy form. You inch your way to the windward edge of the bridge and grab hold to keep from flying off. You then have Fortresssparks take it's normal shape. It happily complies.
Now prepared to get to work, you focus on what you want Fortresssparks to look like. You try out a serrated-blade dagger, stabbing it into the concrete. You try to pull yourself along with it, but it just moves through the ice and stone with very little resistance. Hm. Wait! An idea! You stab Fortresssparks into the bridge diagonally and pull. Ha! Take That, nature!

Nature, unamused, decides to take action, though you would have no knowledge of this.

After some time, you make it across the bridge. You take an appreciative look at Fortresssparks, and notice that the serrated teeth seem to be moving. Then it hits you: Chainsaw Dagger! Of course! How could you have been so blind? Smiling, you go walk against the wind along the path. It begins to snow.
After you march along for a while, you notice that you're really thirsty. You drink down the remainder of the water in your waterskin. Should I get more water? Yes, I should, but where? You ponder your options. The snow isn't thick enough on the ground yet to grab some and eat it.
As you ponder, the goblins in your mind keep watch. You wouldn't have noticed it, but they yell at you in your mind to look for the source of the the growling.
Wait, Growling!? You spin around just in time to dodge a leaping wolf. Fight? Flee?

Fight? Flee?
You forgot Item, you bastard! And Magic, if we're past the first disc already!

Anyway, I'd choose Fight. Somewhat. Stay at a distance from it: if it comes closer, spearify* Fort and stab in the wolf's general direction some. If it loses interest, get back to water-finding.

*cough*. Chainsaw-spearify, of course.

Oh yeah... I have a forum game, don't I? Nah, it's just finals time. I have need of study.

You suddenly remember that you've been lugging around a shield for quite a while now. You unsling it from your back and use it to keep the wolf away. You also recall the spear that's been with you for just as long. At first you think of taking it out, but then remember your Chainsaw Dagger, which you swing wildly at your opponent.

After a few minutes have passed, you start to feel your fingers numbing from the cold. With a lack of better options, you try lunging at the oversized dog! It dodges, but you manage to gash its side, sending a spray of blood onto the snow. It yelps loudly and bites at you. You dodge to the side and land a killing blow on it's forehead.

As its corpse lurches into a drift, you look around. The snow has collected all over, and the sky is completely slate grey. The wind has picked up again and flurries of frost surround you.

(Just not enough detail; your first line of that update (!post) reminded everyone that they really didn't know what our character even looks like, and it felt like a ***-pull even though it wasn't. We need to put together an inventory, and set out standing ">Look at surroundings." and ">Check for auras." commands.)

> We have wolf!
1. Drag the body under some of those trees.
2. Use Fortresssparks' unicorn-horn power to purify the wolfs innards that are rapidly becoming outnards.
3. Sate your thirst for warm blood.
4. Use renewed strength and weapon to collect lumber suitable for a basic lean-to (logs leaning against logs leaning against a tree).
5. Drag carcass into lean-to and out of the wind.
6. Continue purifying and eating/drinking the body.
7. Wear still-warm pelt of the fallen to further conserve body heat and reinforce vague mental image of evolutionary supremacy.
8. Sleep out the snow storm.

*Fear my prudish power!

It'd be nice to see Fugue starting up again, it was a nice story. But something about the last two posts and their timing tells me it's not meant to be.
