So yeah. I had an idea to do this but I've no idea how to do this modding business. If one of ye mystics of the raws could help me out I'd be greatly obliged.

Define "paintbrush weapon". What do you want it to do?

I should've said that, shouldn't I have?  ::)
Essentially, just a small wooden stick to hit people with called a paintbrush. Not sure if it's feasible to make it actually paint stuff, or be a weapon that has special effects due to the color of paint on it, but if it ain't, don't bother. Just the small wooden stick thing would do fine. Of course there's probably a thread exactly for questions like this, but there's no going back now, is there?

Copy a hammer, then rename it to paintbrush :P That's the best you can do.

I could try to make it smaller too, I suppose...

I suppose you could turn it into a bit of a marlinspike instead.

But how would one accurately simulate the effects of a brush? Each bristle is a low-contact-area thing, so a paintbrush in DF would probably be a terrifying thing of 50+ whips combined.

Again, I have no idea what I'm talking about.

Weapon modding is by far the simplest modding in the game; just take a look at some weapon raws and see how it works.

First number is contact area, second is penetration, last is velocity.

Well, makes sense, and I suppose I had to learn how to do this sometime. Thank you all for the help.
