IslandCastle the Confinement

So I used some world gen paramaters from Vattic (Who says that the credit goes to Grax) in order to gen very small islands, so you can embark in an area completely surrounded by water.

So I now have an island fortress, or soon to be fortress, as I embarked on the area to make sure it worked.

It is IslandCastle the Confinement.

There are 7 dwarves, as usual. All of them are profession-less peasants, and as there is no way to get migrants, as there are no land connections.

The island I embarked on is "Scorching" and there are NO trees, NO vegetation, and an aquifer layer, the ground is nothing but sandy loam and obsidian pebbles.

As for the stuff I brought with me?

Some food, a LOT of drink (just in case)
A ton of seeds, mostly pig tail seeds, because I like pig tails.
3 steel picks (splurge, from when I found out the embark parameters had INSANE empark point limits)
5 copper crossbows and about 120 bolts, I think bronze, and 5 quivers
an iron anvil
50 units of leather
1000 tower-cap logs, did I mention the lack of trees?
200 or so rocks, mostly galena and marble, with I think 11 obsidian, cause I like obsidian
And finally, 10 buckets.

As for the animals to provide my useless dwarves with some company,
(Again, some insane embark point amounts)
5 cats (kittehs!) cause I like cats.for their haunting meows
3 llamas (forgot about the whole "no grass" part, probably eat them)
7 turkeys, 5 of which are females for the eggs, they don't need grass, do they?
the horse and donkey that somehow pulled the wagon across the ocean
and 14 female war dogs and 7 male hunting dogs (they were supposed to also be war dogs, my mistake) to protect the dwarves.


Looking at the "Others" tab on the unit list, there are 10 ostriches that make up the native inhabitants, but they are all by the northern coast, hopefully they stay there.

Ok, here are the seven dwarves, I don't know where Snow White is, though.

Oh, there is a slight modification to the raws, in that I made all of the major races detestable, which is why Bomrek and Sibrek hate kobolds, and Ingiz hates elves.
Feel free to request Dorf'ing and suggestions.

Again, there are no land connections, no grass, no trees, scorching heat, wild ostriches, skill-less morons, a ton of junk and animals, and an aquifer.

My wife gave me some great beginning advise.

Reserving this spot for any updates that are needed, also just realized that of the starting 7 dwarves, only 2 are female, if we are relying on babys to sustain this fort, it will take quite a while.
