Edit child into adult?

I have it again, a truely awesome map and my migrant waves are full of children.

This really annoys the crap out of me, when i find a map i really like, there is always something wrong. Like no iron and no anvils from my neighbours, no sieges, no caravan, or like last game getting 6 dwarfs in the first two migrant waves then after that i got 38, rushed my walls up but just before that got slaughtered by an ambush. Now it are the damn children waves again, 2 waves with 8 children and 3 useless adults.

So is there some way to make them pop into adults? I read something about lowering the child age in the raws but you can not do that individually for each dwarf right? So then i have to change it 8 times and it still takes like 8 in game years before they all are adult. Any methods at all? I am surprised there is no tool out there to change it since this is happens a lot with me.

Go into creature_standard.
Locate CREATURE:DWARF.
Locate the CHILD tag.
Modify the number after it to, say, 2.

Note that even if the children are now older then their new child to adult age they won't turn into adults until their next birthday.
