I once had a bug where the engraver liked the same thing he disliked, which meant he engraved rats or whatever it was all over the place which gave him bad thoughts.
Actually, dwarves normally engrave pictures of things they dislike. Maybe they're trying to get over it?

Don't they usually engrave vermin that someone they have a grudge on dislikes?

That's statues.  Then I build them IN THEIR FRICKING ROOM!!
