This is going to be a partial turn only. I will create another post to finish the turn later. All family actions are locked in
House KappelAs the refugees swarm into town, Lucas' congregation grows larger and larger. Most days, church is held outside because there are so many people. Most people attending church are unable to tithe more than the occasional loaf of bread. Still, the community flourishes, and some of the first officers of the church get together one night and make a secret plan...
The day after the final wheat harvest of the year 1519, fifty members of the congregation show up with their hammers and saws and start to build an expansion of the church. After a month of intense labor, the church has quadrupled in size. Many of the congregation were men trained by House Fenix during the building of the bunkhouses.
The women of the family continue the pottery business, building countless numbers of jars, pots, and ornate cornerstones for the buildings. The money starts to trickle in a little faster, and the hired people toil in the fields.
Uta has a final child, a weak little girl.
Overall, business is very good for House Kappel. Their cash reserves are expanding slowly but surely, and farming is going to become a lot more profitable in the upcoming years.
Maria leaves the village for a village in the Durant Oligarchy, to start a pottery business there. Every once in a while, an ornate miniature beehive arrives via courier, with a piece of gold masterfully fired inside.

House FenixWith every winter comes frozen bodies, pulled out of tents, and trees cut down and burnt. Leon used this as a rallying point , so he hired the strongest 19 men he could. He started working on building housing for the refugees. Building after building, the men labor and the refugees fill them as soon as the last nail is in place. More refugees come, and some are refreshed to see the beds waiting for them, no matter how crowded.
The poor are huddled into small spaces, so Leon knows he must secure guards to keep society civilized. He funds one guard specifically to watch over the bunkhouses ( the 5 gp donation) and every year pays extra tax to the city to fund additional guards.
Murtaugh, now a trained carpenter, takes reign of the family. He looks out over his family's neighborhood with pride. There are many people living in the bunkhouses, and the family's guard ensures that the peasants housed within can grow their wealth and eventually move out. It doesn't matter how many freemen leave, there are always new refugees to take vacant places within the bunkhouses.
On a warm summer day on 1517, Murtaugh weds Christine and starts the next generation.
Leon and Alexandria announce their retirement, and are honored with a great banquet put on by the local government. The venerable Burgomeister Root makes an appearance after almost 2 years of being bedridden. Although he can no longer speak, he has painstakingly wrote a letter. On it is
"You have done great things to our community. Be happy. - R".
Burgomeister Root died 3 days later.
Overall, House Fenix has great holdings but not a tremendous amount of cash. The members are all satisfied about the village around them.
