Is it just me or does dwarf therapist not allow you to set custom nicknames on the Linux version - using the latest version.

As far as I know Linux does not allow you to change another programs memory the same way Windoze does. I have the same problem with custom profession names.

It makes managing the dwarfs very hard, as I would rename them quickly in dt. Like rename all the marksmen in dt to place them in squads in df.

Anyone else fixed this?

Try splintermind's version of dwarftherapist:
http://code.google.com/r/splintermind-attributes/source/browse
If you are using archlinux, you can use the PKGBUILD on the AUR.

There is a patch for this issue attached to a bug report somewhere on the dwarftherapist page, too. (You don't need the patch when using splintermind's version).
