Siege v Caravan

Ooooh, I got my first goblin raid, and they're racing the caravan to the entrance!  I'm so excited :-)

I'm having a lot of fun with this game so far.  Some of the micromanagement is a bit too much (eg: creating bedrooms) but overall I'm liking it :-)

They were - it was anticlimactic.  Two goblins survived and fled, but stayed at the edge of the map, so I stayed in SIEGE status.  I send one squad each after them, and apparently there were no dwarf injuries.  Good to know - they're all steel-ed out.

I once was saved from a 80+ gobbo siege by a dwarven caravan. One of the guards went on a serious killing spree, taking down about 20 goblins before she was shot by a troop of archers. The rest of the caravan fought less succesfully, but after they were dead the siegers decided to retreat.

The thing is, their equipment and skills are random. If a guard has copper armor and a silver spear, he'll be slaughtered. Steel armor, steel battle axe on the other hand...

All my guys are steel-encased and steel-armed.  I had them positioned around the corner from the hall o' traps, but those caravan guards laid down the smack.
