By create a "valley" I assumed you'd dig out a nice gentle slope out and away from the toad, not blow a massive hole in the side of the hill.

I congratulate your idea and it's dwarfy execution. Get this finished for us :)

The next logical thing to do is to go into the caverns, attempt to find some giant frogs, and make yourself a croaking horde to defend the temple of the Toad.
