Secretive mood
« on: September 18, 2012, 10:05:42 pm »

I looked at the wiki about this mood and I'm still at a loss. My farmer is just sitting in the dining room doing nothing and not even going off to claim a work station. If it's something I don't got what can I do?

He wants a workshop that you haven't built yet. Check all of his skills and figure out which one is is highest moodable skill - that'll tell you what workshop he wants; if he doesn't have any moodable skills, then you need to build a Craftsdwarf's workshop.

Alternatively, if you have DFHack then just type "showmood" and it'll tell you what type of workshop he wants to claim (as well as what items he's going to want to collect).

It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

wow that was fast. thanks for the help.

Edit: Sorry but what do you mean by mood-able skill. I was at a loss on that also when trying to figure out who I should put as a manager.

Edit 2: Oh ya and forgot to say. all his highest skills are lvl 1 which are milling, skinning and cooking.

A complete list of skills can be found here. In your case I believe the highest there would be cooking.

It would be brutally difficult and probably won't work. In other words, it's absolutely dwarven!

...but cooking isn't a moodable skill, which means he wants a Craftsdwarf's workshop.

What's skinning? If he means tanning, doesn't that need a leatherworker's shop?

Just build all the shops? You are likely going to get a mood there eventually.

My bad, for some reason my eyes turned "clothier" into "cook". :P

But yeah, you need a craftsdwarf workshop.

My guess is that he meant "spinning", which isn't moodable.

clotier, a clothmaker is a mood-able skill

sometimes they pick something random

Moods pretty much only effect semi-permanant value based items (can make masterwork)

Wrong--Moody dwarves ALWAYS make artifacts, which surpass even masterworks.
