Are snachers trap avoid?
« on: September 09, 2012, 05:12:58 pm »

I don't think they can be because my cage traps keep nabbing them...

So i'm wondering if my game is bugged.

I'm not sure, but thieves in general might be.
What trap setup are you using?

Nope, everything is fine. Snatchers can't avoid traps, thieves can.

I find that sometimes my traps catch snatchers, sometimes they don't. I use simple checkerboard stonefall and cage traps.
On one of my worlds, I've captured two snatchers, but I've had many more than that try to come in or out.

Newb here, only been playing for a couple of weeks.  I have caught a few snatchers in cage traps, though.  I didn't even know they were/could be trapavoid.

The kobolds are.  The goblins are not.

Thanks for the reply, I though so too but once my dwarves discovered them or an animal did my traps caught them all.

The trap set up I have is my encampment is completely surrounded with walls and there is only a 16x4 passage filled with cage traps. This is the only way in to the fortress proper. Then the rest of my fort is underground with a roofed entrance way with full time dwarves guarding it.

Snatchers are a kind of thief.
Goblin thieves are a nice way of saying child kidnappers, much like Dwarven cheese is a nice way of saying curdled maggot secretions. Kobolds are the true thieves.
