Scriver's Liberal Questions Thread
« on: June 15, 2011, 12:29:02 pm »

I recently started playing this game, and there is still a lot of things I do not understand about it. This thread, which should be fairly obvious, is to ask about those things I cannot find answers to on the wiki or by forum-search. To begin with, there's only one question, but there were other things I was wondering about before that I'll probably need help with later.

So, to the questions. How do I promote my people? Or rather, what are the requirements for doing so? Large amount of Juice?

"Promotion" doesn't actually improve your Liberals in any way. Basically, when you promote Vonnegut, what happens is that this organization

A - Larry Leader (boss of Simon and Sally)
B - Simon Subordinate (subordinate of Larry Leader)
C - Sally Subordinate (subordinate of Larry Leader, boss of Vonnegut)
    D - Vonnegut the lowly

becomes

A - Larry Leader (boss of Simon, Sally and Vonnegut)
  B - Simon
  C - Sally
D - Vonnegut (no longer subordinate of Sally)

This has some benefits - each Liberal can only have so many direct subordinates, so promoting Liberals may liberate (heh) some additional recruitment capacity for the lowlier Liberals. Also, I think people, when caught, may only rat out their direct superiors, so having a multi-level organization may protect your true bosses better. Just be careful not to promote just anyone, because the bosses have subordinate limits too!

Oh yeah, and welcome to the World of LCS!

A lot of people use an Underboss system. They basically power up a Second-In-Command, and make them the sole subordinate of their Founder. The Underboss never commits crimes, but the Founder and everyone below the Underboss does. That way, no matter what happens to the rest of the LCS, the Founder is unconnected and only has to deal with his own crimes.

A key point is to remember the LCS will partially or fully disintegrate if the chain of command is disrupted too severely. If your Liberals have enough Juice, it will be a bit resilient, and auto-promotions will occur if people get killed. But the newly promoted characters will still have recruit caps, and some people may be let go if the new person's cap is exceeded. For the founder position in particular, there's a minimum juice requirement of I think 100 in order to promote a new leader of the LCS... if nobody who reports directly to the founder has that, and your founder is killed, the entire organization will disintegrate and you'll lose the game.

Oh yes, and there's a special rule that love slaves are always "subordinates" of their significant other and thus can't be promoted to the top. They'll also leave the organization if they lose their "master", although I think there's a chance that they remain in the LCS if Liberal enough.

Time to revive this with a new misc question!

I remember there being a place where you could see how much a Squader earned over the turn, but now I can't find it. Any directions, please?

There is a daily per person too.  If you run a day with some kind of fundraising active then next turn when you enter activate liberals with 'a' and hit their letter then the very top line on the screen will display yesterdays income.
