Saints Row: The third
« on: September 03, 2012, 03:24:02 pm »

Well, I shouldn't need to describe the game, but anyway:

The Saints Row series can be described as a GTA-Clone, except it dials the immaturity, awesomeness and sillyness to eleven. In the third game, the one in the title, in the introductory mission you will have jumped from a plane, then as you are falling and the plane (a huge passenger craft) tries to ram you, you will kick it through the windows, grabbed an extra parachute in the way and came out in the other exit.

You can also beat random pedestrians with huge purple dildo.

Yeah, don't let the ratings mislead you. This game does not have any mature content, it's all incredibly immature. Funny as hell, and far more fun to go into random rampages.

But back to business: I've recently received a 50% discout cupom on steam for any Saints Row: The Third DLC(s). Which ones are worthy it, and which ones are a piece of money sucking crap?

"Yes, but that rather hinges on doing certain things and not doing others." - Paraphrased from Discworld.

It's old, but there is an 8 page thread here http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=81043.105

That being said, none of the DLC really adds that much gameplay, but Prof Genki and Space are "essential". Probably 3-6 hours added between those.

None of the DLC are really worth it, even for 50% off, IMO.

The story ones are only maybe 1 - 2 hours each at most, The rest of the DLCs are just cosmetic outfits, new (gimmick) weapons/cars, or flat out cheats.

It's actually pretty sad, because SR3 is really, really amazing and fun but it's got, hands down, the worst, most rip-off DLC of any game I've ever seen.

I agree! It's a shame the game isn't longer because I had so much fun with it.
