As some of you may know, Shrapnel Games makes two rather awesome battallion level tactical wargames by the names of Steel Panthers: World War II and Steel Panthers: Main Battle tank, which focus on the World War II and postwar-to-near future time periods respectively.

The games both feature a huge selection of nations to play as, and units are bought with a pool of points from a list of formations that boast impressive variety. All manner of infantry, armor, artillery, and even aerial units can be selected to take the field of battle in your attemt for glorious victory.

Ever wanted to storm the beaches of Normandy on D-Day? How about lead the United States Marines to victory at Iwo Jima? With a huge selection of premade scenarios to try out, as well as a full campaign with multiple theaters, random battle generator, and then multiplayer modes, there's a ton of both historical and what-if battles you can play.

I love both these games, anyone up to play? I can do both play by email, or for those of you looking for faster games, by instant messenger basically any time I'm not at work.

I do love history and WWII, but for some reason hex-based wargames never appealed to me much.
