What's up with those big picture things?
« on: August 17, 2012, 02:42:12 pm »

Okay, this board is pretty empty, but next to copper on the wiki, we get this lovely ASCII art:
╪    Ω    Ω    Ω    Ω    Ω    ╪
Ω     ≡     ≡     ≡
   =    =    Ω
Ω     ≡     ≡     ≡    ≡
   =    Ω
Ω     ≡     ≡     ≡    ≡    ≡    Ω
╪    Ω    Ω    Ω    Ω    Ω    ╪

Who makes these? Is there a simple visual code to them? Are they from DF's code somehow? What do they signify?

The "╪" s are Doors (or were, until Toady changed their tile in one of the more recent versions) to show how dual-colored furniture looks, the "Ω"s are Statues (to show how single-color items look), the "≡"s in the middle are Bars, and the 3 gray "="s are empty stockpile squares.

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.
