It's not based on profession but rather location.  Each sleeper has a location.  That is where you get stuff from.  You are even shown what the location that sleeper will inhabit before you decide whether or not to make them a sleeper.

Yup, if a potential member lists "homeless shelter" or some other location that isn't Conservative for their sleeper location, then you are better off just recruiting them into the regular LCS.

If a location has secret documents, you get those.

Locations with Secret Documents:
Police Station
Court House
AM Radio
Cable Station
Genetics Lab
Cosmetic Lab
Intelligence Headquarters
Corporate Offices
CEO Residence

The following locations give you guns and armor:
Police Station
Army Base

Most other locations are mostly useless for stealing, but may prove necessary for the maps (Prison is SO this) or promoting liberalism from the inside (Prison fits this also).

If anyone can acurately add to these lists, go for it.

if you have a sleeper in a useless place (when you kidnap someone , you cannot chose where to put him) like homeless shelter , it is more effective to promote liberalism or just join the active LCS .
