What does this button do?
« on: August 20, 2012, 01:48:08 pm »

Well, my workplace has a fridge/cooler (we use it for chilling wine) made by H.V.A.C. And it's a "leader" brand apparently. There is a switch on the front of the fridge that doesn't turn it on or off. It has a red dot on one side, and when you press the side with the red dot in, you can see red around the side of the half that doesn't have a red dot. It's one of those seesaw switches.

I'm wondering what this switch does. I haven't found anything online about it but what I have heard makes me believe it's a pressure switch, for high to low pressure. If anyone else also thinks that's what it is, then do you mind telling me when/if it should be used?

Made me think of this.

It's red, it's a switch, that says you must push it.Under own risk of explosion.

I have a cooler at home that has a hot water option. You have to toggle it before it bothers heating it. I'm thinking it's probably a switch for a hot water option... Either that or a doomsday device.

Are you still rocking that switch?  It might be controlling my house lights.

Every time you press the button a random object in space is accelerated towards Earth's orbit.

Certainly you could argue that DF is a lot like The Sims, only... you know... with more vomit and decapitation.
If you launch a wooden mine cart towards the ocean at a sufficient speed, you can have your entire dwarf sail away in an ark.

Yeah, although specifically I remember the bit where Stimpy is trying his hardest not to press it while a background voiceover tempts him to do so. Something like that. It's been a while.
