Looking for a ASCII construction game

I'm looking for a ASCII construction game that would let me build stuff a as character in 2d ASCII  and then somehow let me view it in 3d. I would understand if something like this doesn't exist but something similar to that would be okay. I know there is something for Dwarf Fortress like that that exists but it doesn't save the building. The building falls apart when you leave the region.
