How to check attachment to items? i.e replacing weapons
« on: August 19, 2012, 08:14:19 am »

Currently i'm undergoing changes to my military of improving their equip, but a lot of items they've grown fond of and i don't want to annoy them all by taking away their favorite stuff.

so how do you check? i've looked in the status and no extra writing was written in there, not sure where else to look.

I just found a barrel which contained a wheelbarrow. Inside the wheelbarrow was another barrel. I don't even understand how that is possible.

They don't care if you take their favourite stuff away. Make their uniform so that the weapon they're attached to doesn't qualify, then either melt it down immediately or isolate it so that it can be sold to the traders later

Honestly at the time, I didn't see what could go wrong with crowding 80 military Dwarves into a small room with a necromancer for the purpose of making bacon.

They will not be annoyed. There isn't any kind of negative thought associated with this.  Just assign a new uniform and as long as the uniform is set to "Exact (m)atches" instead of "Partial (m)atches" and they will pick up the item type and material specified in the uniform. (IF it's available)

But named items are awesome. :D

I enjoy producing as many artificial artifacts as possible. So many weapons and pieces of armor giving unique names, with long histories, and decorations that fill an entire page.

All the more reason to swap em out once theyve been named.  Have your heros generate many 'artifacts' for your adventurers, I guess they will bond again.

I wish I had something cool to say about this.  Because it's really cool.

Just because they like the item, doesn't mean it will be named. It simply means they have been using it for a long time.

I'm pretty sure the mace i have hasn't got a single kill, yet a dwarf has become attached to it.

Anyway, thanks for answers!
