Minecart ramps
« on: August 08, 2012, 08:31:50 am »

Can anyone help me understand why my minecart ramps don't connect?

I'll try to illustrate

E=Open space
S=Track Stop on Track
T=TRACK
D=DOWN RAMP
U=UP RAMP
X=WALL/STONE
. = floor
P=stockpile
z=4
Code: [Select]

z=3

z=2

z=1

NOTE: The down and up ramps seem to line up correctly.

Right now, the cart is 100% full, set to be guided, directions are right, dwarves have push labor enabled, etc. but nothing happens and both stops have the "!set dir/connect track" warning...

grumble.

anythoughts?

When you engraved the tracks into the ramps, did you include the wall tiles beyond the ramps and the downward ramp tiles (i.e. are they all North/South)?

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

Or to put it simple? When you engrave tracks onto a ramp, you have to stretch the designation across 3-tiles, with your ramped tile in the middle.
