I occasionally add [PET] and such to dwarves and have pet wardwarves for my humans/kobolds. They are fun to use.

War Roc and War Dragon

I like to tame Dragons simply to let them roam an outdoor garden with some statues and overal indestructible stuff that looks nice and contains the fire, and fire is the reason i don't employ them for war, raging hells of dragonfire are far worse than any goblin siege...

For war animals you have a crapload of options, when i play humans i enjoy using Giant Lions for the paladinesque feel, sadly you can't ride them (yet), when playing dorfs i preffer underground beasties like Cave Crocodiles (they also lay a crazy ammount of eggs and a single couple can feed your entire fort!) or the uber awesome Cave Dragons, it's almost always a flavour thing, like for example i enjoy using Rocs and/or Giant Eagles when playing an aboveground fort focussed on marksmen/dwarves (wich i do most most of the time).
