Adventurer editing
« on: July 31, 2012, 12:19:12 am »

So here's the deal, i miss Runesmith, i miss like a teen boy with no computer misses porn so i would give all of my internets (and a drawing of your preffered dorfy scene if you fancy such things (i'm being serious)) to the fellow willing to teach us how to edit a given character (my adventurer).

All i want is to play a peasant with the same endgame chances as a demigod, at the end, they both killed that damn dragon with temperature turned off! so they both should have the stats to prove it even if the demigod had a better start, being stat-caped simply because you're the son of a cheesemaker seems like a dick move if you ask me.

Mh, it isnt frowned upon here. I do believe a runesmith-like tool is in developement.
Try searching the modding forum or the general discussion, as thats where tools are posted.

Check the RS thread, it is in the process of possibly being given to Peterix so he'll continue making it.

I enjoy peasant starts.  Something about being novice dodge, reader, swimmer, observer, Armor user, biter(When limbless) and novice pigsticker makes it more fun.  Bonus for using a two-hander and limiting sneaking, throwing while not purposely grinding.

My average adventurer's lifespan is about 2 quests.

It's funny, when I just started two days ago, I thought Peasant|Hero|Demigod were DIFFICULTY settings. (Being, Peasant = Easy, Hero = Normal, etc.) Then I looked at the starting Attribute and Skill points when creating a character with Hero and Demigod. Too high for my liking, I want to work for my skills and attributes, and so I did. It's fun playing a Peasant, provides a good challenge. :)

I agree, though, the stat cap is irritating to me, knowing that no matter how hard I work on my character, there will always be that higher cap available to Heroes/Demigods that he will never reach. :(

I think its a reflection of mideval and earler times.  Its still around today if you care to look for it, although chances are you regularly associate with 'peasants'.  Bloodlines that confered superiority.  A pure or noble bloodline along with pure or higher traditions and culture could simply avhieve more.
