New utility on the wiki
« on: October 19, 2007, 12:46:00 pm »

Was getting too excited so near to release, so I cooked up a utility for altering tile data.  It is a little more accessible than the others, but let me know what you think. :)

Might I ask, what sort of "unusual gem behaviour" can occur?  It would be awfully nice to finally have a gem of each type on-hand for mandates and moods.

Nice application, though!

The unusual gem behaviour results (in all the cases I tested) in a retrieved gem that is a useless rock unusable for anything but creating jobs for chasming.  For the more specific hows and whys the link above provides a good explanation.

This utility has caused my computer to freeze up twice now. I've been using it to carve out floors. Maybe I used it too much at a time or something, but it causes my computer to lock up and makes me have to restart. Any idea why this is happening?  :(

That is strange, I've used it to carve out the entire mountain with no ill effects (other than the occasional rocks falling from above).  As you mentioned you were using it to carve out floors I take it you were using the repeat option?  It seems to be the only possible candidate for the problem.  I've uploaded a better threaded version with delay, let me know if that fixes your problem.  If so I'll update the wiki with it.
