A.) He disembowled his opponent with his bare hands and strangled it with its own entrails.

B.) Beat its head in with said crossbow.

C.) Tore the skull out of its head and tossed it away laughing.

Since Deathgate. And it's usually giant sponges/carp/elephants/GCS inflicting the fatalities.
