You can select a subset of lines to sort, and the only ones that really need to be sorted are the language_dwarf.txt, and only the [T_WORD:etc] lines at that, to have all words in-game be sorted alphabetically when presented with a list.

When sorting files which don't have one-line entries, I usually replace all the carriage returns with some other symbol.  That leads to everything being thrust onto one line.  Then I sort them, and then replace the symbol with a carriage return again.



The "language" is DF Raw.  It's just a basic language that Toady has imagined and uses, without predecessor.  It's closest to old-style ini files, but it's basically it's own animal.

Bumping to report an update. Though no actual changes have been made to the files, I would like to let everybody know that these files are still entirely compatible with the latest DF versions (all the way up to 34.11).

I decided to deliver an update anyway. Now there is included a "Full - translated" option that turns all race languages into English. It's not recommended for everybody, as it does remove some of the fantasy feel of the game. However, if you'd like to be able to figure out your dwarves' (and everything else's) names without having to look it up in the raws or the 'v' description, this option will make life a lot easier for you. :)

I'm still working on this project... The effort is strong.

Though I get the feeling the other dwarves sealed my study some time ago. I'm getting so very hungry.

Also, I'll submit an error in language_words:

   [VERB:swim:swims:swam:swam:swimming]

should be

   [VERB:swim:swims:swam:swum:swimming]

Not sure if that's vanilla or not, but it's wrong either way.
